Briefing the question
What belongs in the brief: facts, dates, jurisdiction, and the output you want.
Put in the brief
- Parties, capacities and the legal relationship.
- Dates of the facts, service or judgment if they exist.
- Court or authority and the law you are asking about.
- What you want: a principle, a time limit, risks, a comparison, or a draft.
What is not enough
A short sentence with no jurisdiction and no date produces a wide search. The narrower the brief, the clearer the source.
